TUMBLR TEA PARTY {Presented by tumblr, Lela Rose, Steven Kolb of the CFDA + Kusmi Tea}

The fashion community on Tumblr has become exceptionally close, as such there always is a group of us who get to endure the most amazing opportunities… And the best a part about it is that we’re together. One of these events being the first ever Tumblr Tea Party hosted by fashion designer Lela Rose {in her GORGEOUS home, click through to see more}, Steven Kolb of the CFDA and Kusmi tea.

The amount of talent which resides in New York was further proved upon visiting Lela’s home and getting a chance to really speak with her. A southern belle to the core, Lela’s warm, welcoming and girly personality aligns perfectly with her feminine design aesthetic both shown in her clothes and home. She was gracious enough to take us through the entire four flour loft, complete with a shoe closet  sent from the gods, tables which lower themselves from the ceiling and rise discreetly from the floor and of course a doggie elevator! Sipping on some wellness tea provided by Kusmi and having a chance to sit with a great, was obviously the perfect way to start my Monday.

Thank you to all of those involved who helped bring this gorgeous event to life! I wonder what’s next… Another tea party? Maybe we’ll go all out with a blogger slumber party… {Stay tuned?!}

REBECCA MINKOFF PRE FALL 2013 COLLECTION PREVIEW {ACCESSORIES}

It’s a bit of an understatement when I say that Rebecca Minkoff never and I mean never fails to bring the goods. This collection is ace, and the predominant Americana themes which inspire it, are what embodies the brand the most: The sense of independence and drive of passionate women who push boundaries far beyond style. In this case, Minkoff was inspired by the one and only Amelia Earhart, and upon viewing each piece, I think it’s safe to say that pre-fall is nothing short of fly.

THE STYLE LINE: {A YEAR IN REVIEW}
I’ll keep this as short and sweet as possible but I really am at a loss for words when it comes to how to describe my relationship with The Style Line. So much has happened for me personally because of the individuals and companies I have had the pleasure of working with this past year. A few of my highlights include…
Attended both seasons of New York Fashion Week {in part thanks to the lovelies at tumblr} as well as both seasons of the Magic Trade show as a Digital Media Influencer participating in the Teen Vogue Blogger Lounge.
Having the honor of working with and for Teen Vogue.
Attending a blogger sleepover in the Hamptons with Rebecca Minkoff + StyleCaster
Having dinner with Nanette Lepore and her family.
Being invited to join a gorgeous dinner with De Beers Diamonds for bloggers and editors.
Being a participant in both local and international styling competitions including ASOS Future Stylist and the Lord & Taylor Student Style Competition
Working with brands including {but not limited to} Rebecca Minkoff, Karen London Jewelry, Nanette Lepore, & PUMA.
Having the pleasure of interviewing incredible and driven young people from all over the world
Being fortunate enough to meet with some of readers in person, which has been an truly humbling experience.
…All of which, has been documented on this blog. What I’m getting here, is that I hope that my story and all of the stories that I showcase through my interviews show that anything is possible from wherever you are, and no matter your circumstances. Since The Style Line’s inception, I have sought nothing but to create a platform of inspiration, driven by the talents and dreams of young people and their fresh perspective.
It is so incredible to think, that even upon turning an idea into an action, that your efforts become recognized on an entirely new level. What’s more, is that my journey with The Style Line has served as a pre-cursor of what’s to come as I continue to turn growth this blog/personal brand into something truly amazing. I am blessed to have all of you along for the ride.
I have a lot of exciting ventures coming up in 2013 that involve extending The Style Line into a new medium and a new design collaboration, which I cannot wait to go into more detail about! But for now, all I can say is that I wish all 190,000 of you a happy and healthy new year and a million + 1 thank you’s for your continued support and loyalty.
I love you all.

PREVIEWING: SWAROVSKI ELEMENTS X VICTORIA’S SECRET 10 YEAR SPARKLING PARTNERSHIP

It’s not very often that one can say they’ve seen an angel, but being as lucky as I am, I got to see much more… Her outfit. Fashion-lovers alike all know that tonight the annual Victoria’s Secret Fashion show airs, as such the SWAROVSKI team was kind enough to invite me to preview one of their dazzling creations for the show, a glistening costume featured in the Silver Screen Angel section of the show. Inspired by deco motifs and the idea of cinematic drama, this particular instills a sense of old Hollywood glamour.

Be sure to tune into the show tonight at 10/9C on CBS to catch this dramatic look in action, on one of Victoria’s Secret’s premiere angels. Thanks so much for having me Swarovski - Here’s to another fabulous 10 years of crystals and angels! xo

JUICY COUTURE HOLIDAY COLLECTION 2012 PREVIEW

Yesterday, I attended the Juicy Couture Holiday preview and was immediately whisked away on a trip down (a pink and very velour and terry-cloth filled) memory lane. As a thirteen year old prepster and aspiring dancer Juicy tracksuits were an evident part of my sartorial DNA, as they were my go-to’s for cute comfort. And who can’t forget every tween’s love affair with the brand’s signature charm bracelet? Looking back on my relationship with this brand, it’s become evident that Juicy was my first look into the world of fashion and all that is girly and it’s amazing to see how far it’s evolved in conjunction with my style growth.

Despite it’s apparent youthfulness, Juicy Couture is a brand for a daring andfabulous woman on the go and this notion was truly reaffirmed upon previewing the Holiday 2012 collection. So with the holiday season in tow, now’s YOUR chance to stock up on some glam Juicy essentials, including: Metallic denim, colorful prints and winter textures, furry outerwear and the ever adorable embellished jewelry pieces and accessories.

As always, Juicy Couture knows how to rock fun and fabulous for all ages!

TEEN VOGUE ONLINE BEAUTY EDITORIAL

A couple of weeks and many blogs posts ago I shared a sneak preview on Le Style Child of my beauty collaboration withTeen Vogue, showcasing a photo of how to perfect the ultimate red matte lip. Well… my full feature is now officially live and above you’ll see me sporting what I consider (and happen to be my favorite) essential beauty looks: A red lip and smokey eye!

As I’ve never been one to pile on the cover-up and skin creams and powders (unless you count drugstore moisturizers and sun screen!) I was super excited to shoot these two looks, and tried my hardest to come out with some make up knowledge of my own. I’ve always been drawn to a pop of color or texture on the eyes or lips, so after shooting I definitely felt inspired to take my makeup to a new level!…Let’s just say that’s still a work in progress.

DINNER WITH DE BEERS

Very rarely, do I receive an opportunity such as the one I experienced last night - A lavish and light hearted dinner, hosted by the most luxurious and respected diamond company in the world… De Beers.  They say that diamonds are forever and De Beers definitely re-enforced this idea, whisking me away into a world of pure beauty and elegance. I had the pleasure of joining fellow chosen bloggers and digital media influencers for the night, as well as having the honor of meeting head designe Hollie Bonneville Barden, CEO of the company Devon Pike and President of the De Beers Institute of Diamonds Andrew Coxon.

These three individuals displayed immense passion for what they do and delve into the artistry of diamonds and what makes their process so unique. Never have I ever had more appreciation for jewelry, especially as fine and feminine as De Beers.

De Beers gave their pieces a story and a perspective, emulating an element of prestige but emphasizing the fact that their jewelry is art. I couldn’t agree more, as what I love about fashion is that is wearable art, which in my opinion is the best and most long-lasting kind there is.

I can’t thank De Beers enough for a truly amazing night.

REBECCA MINKOFF JEWELRY COLLECTION + HOLIDAY 2012 PREVIEW

On Thursday the 18th, I attended the Rebecca Minkoff Jewelry Collection + Holiday 2012 Preview and was greeted with dainty jewels, metallic swanky bags, sweet treats and an amazing group of people that make the RM brand what it is - Amazingly chic and incredibly fun! Despite the quick visit, I managed to snap a few photos to highlight some of my favorite moments from the event. Like I’ve said before,  Rebecca Minkoff simply knows that girls just wanna have fun, and she always manages to make that happen. xo

A NIGHT WITH NANETTE

On Monday night I experienced a new way to preview a highly coveted collection and had the chance to do something that some people dream about… Visit and tour Nanette Lepore’s house, explore (and drool over!) her closet, and actually sit down and have a home-cooked meal with her all while getting a personal view of her beautiful spring pieces… Yeahhhhh, I know, I’m still reeling with excitement!

Seriously though, having such an intimiate and enjoyable experience with the Lepore family really gave me a sense of Nanette’s integrity as a designer and as an individual outside of her profession. For someone who appears to have everything people want in life, Nanette was very gracious, giving and showed great humility when it came to showing the collection and talking about her experiences as a designer. I really can’t thank Nanette and Jimmy Lepore and the rest of the team for this awesomely unique experience!

CARINE ROITFELD X TUMBLR

Let me pose this question to you all: What’s do you consider an appropriate way to spend a Thursday afternoon? Meeting an iconic visionary who is on the verge of total fashion domination for some light talk about art, fashion and the future? Yeah, that’s what I thought. But believe it or not this is how I was lucky enough to spend yesterday, chatting about the recent exhibition, The Little Black Jacket, premiered by none other then the infamous Karl Lagerfeld and his counterpart and legendary fashion figure, Carine Roitfeld.

As some of you may know, Carine is debuting her new quarterly magazine CR Fashion Book set to launch early next month. She was kind enough to enlighten my fellow fashion-blogger heads and I on her endeavors as well as attempt to briefly get to know us as best as she could in the time allotted. Upon leaving the meet-up, it really hit me how absolutely blessed I am to have met such an interesting and incredibly chic (in all respects) woman like Carine. And while I won’t say we’re now BFF’s, I do have a newfound admiration for her and her warmth and interest in all of our interests and dreams. She herself admitted to being a dreamer, and deemed fashion as an appropriate medium for livening those dreams. An artistic rebel in her own rights, fashion and art should be refined, revised and in a sense challenged, but for me personally, Carine reaffirmed the fact that the validity of dreams doesn’t matter, just as long as it feels right from within.

So once again thank you Tumblr, Carine and to all those at CR Fashion Bookfor a wonderful Thursday afternoon.

LULU FROST X TUMBLR FASHION BREAKFAST

One of the many things I love about being a fashion blogger with Tumblr is the communal value that comes from being apart of a talented and of course fashionable vibrant group of people. With that being said, on Thursday morning I joined my fellow fashion bloggers designer Lisa Salzar and the rest of the Lulu Frost team for a morning of sweet treats and even sweeter jewelry. Pictured above you’ll see Lisa, and pieces from her most recent collection as well as a preview of her upcoming collection POWER. As put by the Lulu Frost website, “LISA’S WORK BLENDS ANTIQUE, VINTAGE AND MODERN ELEMENTS TO REINVENT TIMELESS CLASSICS.” Andif it wasn’t obvious enough already, Lisa’s creative approach to her design further proves that originality and artistic vision set Lulu Frost a part. I honestly cannot wait to spend more time with the team and be a part of the magic that derives from this evolving and inspiring brand. Thanks for such a great time ladies!

VIVIENNE TAM RESORT 2013 COLLECTION

Vivienne Tam’s culturally-infused aesthetic remained present in her Resort 2013 collection. If what they say is true about big things coming in small packages, this collection even further proved that notion. Although concise in regards to the number of pieces (the number I saw anyway), the collection still managed to be extremely versatile in print, tailor, texture and fabric in its entirety. There’s a fluidness in Tam’s designs that translates so beautifully in each of her collections. She is able to take an idea and run with it. As an outsider looking in, I really liked Tam’s bold prints and experimental color palettes, there was consistency, but each piece as an individual was incredibly strong with her use of these elements. It was such a pleasure to see everything in person so soon - And hopefully one day (soon) I’ll see it all hanging in my closet!
