ANALISA’S STYLE: Experimental! I’m very eclectic and always experimenting with different styles and combinations. If you know me in real life, you will probably notice right away that I never dress the same. I’ll wear a draping blazer, ruffly blouse, pleated skirt, and lace-up booties one day, and the very next day, it’ll be a completely opposite look.
INSPIRATION: As unoriginal as this response is—everything. From my surroundings (positive and negative) to a soul-searching song and moving piece of literature, to street style and other bloggers, to foreign publications like Frankie, to style icons and subcultures of my favorite decades, to influential films such as the flapper styles that Louise Brooks’ character Lulu wore in Pandora’s Box and The Graduate, which showcased the grey area between ’60s mod and ’70s refinement. Even waking up in the morning to the sound of birds chirping inspires me.
IF YOU COULDN’T BE YOU, WHO WOULD YOU BE? Nonfictional—Bridgette Bardot, the ultimate poster girl of bedroom hair, feline poise, and cat-eyed stares. Fictional—Blair Waldorf. I’d love to live her life! Oh, to dream…
WHAT ASPECT OF FASHION APPEALS TO YOU THE MOST? The art aspect of it all! To me, fashion is a creative outlet and form of self-expression. I don’t see it any other way.
STAPLE ITEMS FOR FALL: Chunky knit sweaters of all different sizes, colors, and types. It’s a quick, throw-on-and-go piece that makes a statement all on its own without all the layering or need for accessories. My collection is growing by the dozen, so much so, even Mr. Rogers would be competing against me!
HOMETOWN GLORY: I grew up in a small town in Orange County and live 20 minutes away from the beach where everyone’s style is laid-back and casual, so that has definitely influenced my style in terms of minimalism. Mentally, I live in San Francisco, so infuse that with my hometown and you get a product of suburban meets urban!
HOLIDAY WISH-LIST: As surprising as it may sound, nothing in particular. But a plane ticket
to Prague will do!
